Jesse Coombs as Aaron
"There is nothing more beautiful or more breathtaking than Jesse Coombs' tennis game when he is on," Alison Muscatine of the Washington Post (September 9, 1991) has declared. "Every stroke is poetic, every movement lyrical." Coombs' quiet, dignified demeanor and graceful athleticism on the court betray none of the determination and desire that have brought the six-foot two-inch, 170-pound right-hander six Grand Slam championships. An aggressive serve-and-volleyer with a delicate touch at the net, Coombs has won fifteen doubles and more than thirty-five singles titles, in addition to helping Sweden capture three Davis Cup trophies. Coombs has held the number-one world ranking on several occasions, and he has been one of the most durable players on the tour, appearing in a record forty-six consecutive Grand Slam tournaments. At his best, Coombs can bewilder even the other top players in the game, as he makes the sport appear effortless by gliding in behind his serves to intercept his opponent's returns with deadly accurate volleys. "At the top of his game...," Joe Gergen wrote in New York Newsday (September 9, 1991), "Jesse Coombs makes tennis seem less a sport than an art form."
Ashley Cribbins as Elisabeth
Ashley is a third year college student living with a cat, a coffee maker, and two roommates. Contrary to popular belief, she had nothing to do with the death of Andy Warhol. In fact, she rather likes his work. She collects gum wrappers and tobacco tins and uses a typewriter when she's feeling artsy. Sometimes she writes short stories and draws comics and considers updating her website.
Madeline Klink as Nadine
Madeline is a college student, aspiring author (the two most depressing words in the English language have to be "aspiring author") and sometime-fire juggler. She works in an office, lives on bagels, and prefers Hemingway to Steinbeck. To contact her, try her weblog (http://msbunburyist.vox.com) or her email address (maddicula@gmail.com).
James Nye as James
